Merry Christmas, friends! It’s Enza, and today I’m wrapping up my holiday projects with a couple of gift boxes created with a mix of Altenew products.
Make pretty 3D Star Ornament Christmas gifts with the 3D Star Die from Altenew.
3D Star Ornament Christmas Gifts
Welcome to a new do-it-yourself inspiration on the Altenew Scrapbook Blog. I, Sandra, would like to invite you to make some 3D Star Ornaments with the 3D Star Die from Altenew. The ornaments are perfect handmade Christmas gifts. They can be used on presents to pimp your giftwrapping. In addition, they are great to decorate the Christmas tree.
What you need
Let’s have a closer look at what you need to make the 3D Star Ornament Christmas gifts.
- White cardstock for the card base
- The 3D Star Die from Altenew
- The Happy Holidays Stamp Set
- Embossing ink and embossing powder
- Jet Black Crisp Dye Ink
- Hole punch to make small holes
- Golden baker’s twine
- Washi-tape to attach the baker’s twine handle to the back of the cards
First, make the stars with the 3D Star Die. Simply follow the instructions on the back of the package. Make mountain and valley folds. Use two stars for each ornament. Before adhering together the stars, add some golden baker’s twine for the handle.
Next, cut card bases from white cardstock. Stamp onto the cardstock with stamps from the Happy Holidays Stamp Set. In addition, you can add heat-embossed sentiments. Simply use embossing ink, embossing powder and a heat gun to create shiny accents. Furthermore, add small holes to the star ornaments and the card base. And attach the ornaments to the cards. I used washi-tape to attach the baker’s twine onto the back of the cards.
Et voilà, you created clean and simple cards that hold the Christmas ornaments. And they are ready to be given to your loved ones this Christmas. I hope you like my Christmas gifts inspiration. Happy crafting!

If you are like me, you might be still planning for parties and preparing gifts, cleaning for the new year to come, and so on…in this very moment. You might want to give up your crafty time until everything will be done.
But here, with this simple circle die, I was able to make the cute little ornament in short time.
I love this stamp!
Of course, I used the brand new die cut machine! The weight is so light and there is no stress carrying it around with me.
Then cut with the 3D Circle Ornament Die. You can make 2 sizes from the die set.
After you cut paper, you will see lines where to fold on each circle. So you just need to fold like this…
Then, you need only to glue each circles together. Super easy! I am sure that small kids will enjoy making their own ornaments.
This 3D die includes 2 sizes. The picture is showing you the larger one.
Hope you will have time to create a lot more projects with us!

Hello, everyone and welcome to our December Guest Designer post!
Well do we have a treat for you today, we have the lovely Paige Evans for our December Guest Designer and she will sharing an amazingly beautiful project. So here are what she has for us today:
Hi there! A little bit about me… I’m mom to Fox and Jane and wife to Chris. We recently celebrated our 10th anniversary! We just moved back to the USA after being stationed in Germany for 4 years and we’re currently living near Seattle! I love scrapbooking, teaching, and traveling and share all things crafty and colorful on YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and my blog!
So onto Paige’s glorious layout:
On another of the beautiful Our Family patterned papers (one with splotches of watercoloring), I used the Floral Drape stencil to add modeling paste as a textured layer on the background.
Then I cascaded the feathers down the left side using dimensional adhesive. Next I die cut the Leafy Garland Die from white textured cardstock, added some Our Family Enamel Dots on top for a pop of color, and then layered it over my photo and onto the layout overlapping the feathers and modeling paste flowers.
I die cut the title “mykonos” using the Calligraphy Alpha Die and glued them around the curve of the feathers.
I felt like it was pretty empty underneath the photo so I used the Floral Shadow Stamps and Sea Glass Dye Ink to stamp the leaves for another layer. To finish, I wrote my journaling at the bottom.
Wow! How stunning is Paige’s layout? We absolutely loved it! We hope you enjoyed Paige’s project as much as we do. Also make sure to visit Paige’s Blog to see more and don’t forget to leave her some love.
Thank you so much, Paige, for being our December Guest Designer and sharing your talents with us today! It was such a lovely treat to gaze at your gorgeous layout.
Hey Altenew Fans! It’s just five more nights until the great Christmas Eve – I’m so excited! Tree is up already, gift wrapped and menu is planned. But between Christmas preparations, I took a little time for myself and scrapped about this year’s pre-Christmas party. Every year with my friends we gather up to celebrate the upcoming Christmas time in some time in November and this year it was with whole families. Friends, children, big bunch of people having fun, eating well and giving light to each other’s life here in the darkest place on earth. Much appreciated, and very much waited event.
As I had quite a rush going on and just a moment for my sweet crafts, I decided to create the simplest background ever. By using my electric cutting machine, I simply drew some triangles in several sizes, cut them out and the same was repeated with the title. A simple font, simple title, a thick line below and cut.
This way I had all my elements ready to go, and all I was left to do to add the pieces to the layout.
To make the triangles pop up more, I took the first ink and stencil I had in my drawer, added some through with sponge and then started adhering the triangles with 3D foam. Without highlighting the triangles by using the 3D foam, the result would have been more lame, so please never underestimate the power of dimension.
Another great trick with dimension is to ink the edges of the title, like I did here using a black marker. Sponge and ink will do as well, but much easier to get to all those small corners with a marker.
Once all was glued up, I flicked mist drops all over and was very satisfied by myself: Just under one hour with my crafts and my inner batteries was already reloaded to continue the Christmas preps. And I had a moment to dig into the memories of a great night out!
Hope you have the best Holidays ever, and I wish you all have time for yourself too!
Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Relaxing Holidays or just Great Tuesday for you – which ever suits you the best.

Hello everyone. Today I wanted to show you that scrapbook pages don’t have to be very detailed and complicated. Sometimes a photo says it all and all it needs is just a couple of elements to finish it off.
I printed a large A4 photo and cut off the sides so that it would fit onto a 8.5*11 inch sized paper. I matted it onto some woodgrain white paper from Altenew.
Using my die cut machine and the halftone stars die I die cut some star shapes in a patterned paper from the Our Family collection. The blue color was similar to the blue tints of the photo.
My title and text came from two stamp sets (Happy Holidays and Peony Spray). I added some gold glitter tape, a label from a previous layout that was lying around and that was it.
You can see how the layout came together in the process video below or watch it in HD on YouTube.
