Hello Altenew Fans! Terhi Koskinen here again sharing some scrapbooking inspiration. Even though December is knocking the door already, I’m sharing my pink summer layout today to show you how fun Altenew Dye Inks are to work with!
The background of this layout is created using only two Altenew products: Blush Crisp Dye Ink and Layered Dahlia Stencil A. I used a regular make-up sponge to add the ink through the stencil, and to receive a random look on the backgroung I didn’t make the pattern too strict. Just some ink here ans some ink there, spreading the color very gently. For more vibrant background I’d recommend to try using two or more colors. Altenew Dye Inks are perfect for stenciling techniques as they dry so quickly and are easy to work with. Layer the colors, use more than one stencil and soon you’ll find yourself doing magical backgrounds!
In addition to the stenciling, I thought to repeat the bloom theme with a big pink flourish. I cut the pink paper with electric cutting machine using Altenew Our family Scrapbook Collection papers. Then after playing with the paper layers and embellishments, I finished the layout with Altenew Metallic Shimmer Ink Sprays. The shimmering effect in these mists is such a unique and rich, love the colors and how the drops are shining againts lights.
Hopefully you are now full of inspiration to enjoy the start of this new week!
We’ll see you soon!
Welcome to the Marker Release blog hop. If you have arrived here from the amazingly talented Erum, you are right on track.
Today we are getting creative with our two new Marker sets. They have been long awaited and now they are finally here.
Our Artist Markers are alcohol-based, allowing you to beautifully blend colors to any stamped images. Our various range of stamps are perfect for these markers. You can also easily pair them with our Crisp Dye Inks to take your coloring to the next level! The colors in this set are designed to be as close as possible to our existing ink colors, so you can take the color guessing game out of the way when coloring.
For this release I created a layout and two cards. The cards you can see on my blog.
Here is the layout I made.
First I created a background using the purple and pink/red shades. I created a second background and then stamped and embossed some feathers (Golden Feather stamp and die) on to it using our Platinum embossing powder.
TO add some detail I stamped some labels (Dot Labels stamp and die) using matching crisp ink colors (Lavander, Soft Lilac, Blush, Cotton Candy and and added some words on to them. The title I cut out by hand and comes from the Golden Feather stamp set.
You can see how I created this layout in the video below or watch it on YouTube in HD.

Hello and welcome Altenew fans.
Today I’m focusing on the Snapshots stamp set and its die from our November stamp and die release. I was immediately draw towards this set because of the camera and documenting stamp sentiments. Maybe it is because I love photography but I knew this set would be one of my go to stamp sets.
If I had to choose one stamp from the whole set I’d pick the camera. I love using it. For my first two projects I stamped the camera on a card and created a mini card with the stamp and die.
To create the mini card I folded a piece of white cardstock in half and stamped the camera on it making sure the left part came over the fold. I cut the camera out but as part of the left hand side isn’t cut out you’ll have a mini camera card.
You might have noticed that I like the camera so for my layout I decided to use some of the sentiments. I laid out all my elements and then I picked colors to match the patterned paper from the new Our Family collection and stamped them on the layout. They add a subtle touch to the project and add detail.
This set is perfect for any type of project whether it be a card, layout, planner or pocket page. We’d love to see your creations. Share them on instagram, flickr, facebook and tag altenew.
Have a lovely day and happy scrapping.
Say yes to white space and hidden journaling on your next scrapbook page with the Journal Card Builder Stamp Set and the Our Family Scrapbook Collection.
White Space and Hidden Journaling
Hey there and welcome to the Altenew Scrapbook Blog today. It’s me, Sandra. I would like to encourage you to use white space and hidden journaling on your next scrapbook page. Because once in a while it’s good to have some white space on your scrapbook layouts. That way the photo, stamped images and the embellishments become the stars of the layout. For today’s layout, I used the Our Family Kit and the Journal Card Builder Stamp Set. First, let me show you the details.
I started with white cardstock, the photo and the large wooden veneer rose from the Our Family Scrapbook Collection. And I arranged these on the layout. Now, when I looked at the result, I decided to add some layered stamped leaves from the Layered Laurel Stamp Set. Because the leaves fit perfectly to the large wood veneer rose and the photo.
Next, I added two strips of the cool washi tape from the kit next to the photo. Then, I attached the die-cut words ‘xoxo’ and ‘smile’ along with the sentiment ‘love this’ from the Journal Card Builder Stamp Set. In addition, I used the lovely alpha stickers from the Our Family Scrapbook Kit to write the layout title.
The Journal Card Builder Stamp Set is perfect for adding journaling to your scrapbook pages. In order to preserve the white space and to make the layout look less crowded, I decided to stamp on the back of the scrapbook page. In addition, hidden journaling is a good way to keep private information confidential if you present your layouts on a public blog.
Finally, I’m hoping you like my layout inspiration today. Have a great time using the Our Family Scrapbook Kit and the Journal Card Builder Stamp Set.
Have a good day,
